Binance: Gen Z drove $80B in trading volume across TradFi products
Gen Z has driven roughly $80 billion in trading volume across Binance's TradFi products since the start of the year — despite having the least capital of any generation. Younger users make up 44% of Binance Direct Stocks and bStocks users, 45% of TradFi Perps users, and as much as 48% among customers who use all three products at once, incrypted reports.
- Gen Z's share of newly onboarded TradFi users rose from 41% in January to 47% in July 2026; trading volume grew at an average of 24% a month.
- Leveraged ETFs account for just 5.9% of Gen Z's trading volume — the lowest share of any generation, suggesting a more cautious approach rather than a taste for speculation.
- 30% of Gen Z investors started investing while still in school (compared with 15% of Millennials and 9% of Gen X), and 77% report having formal financial education.
NVIDIA is the most common first investment among new users (20%), followed by Micron (8%), an independent breakdown of Binance's data confirms. Over 90% of Binance's TradFi product users live in developing countries overall — among Gen Z specifically, that share reaches 95%.
