Ondo Finance launches an execution layer for CEX-speed private trading
Ondo Finance announced the launch of Ondo Network, an execution layer that replaces its previously announced Ondo Chain blockchain plan. Instead of a single blockchain, the company split execution, verification, and settlement into separate layers: trades are processed privately inside secure hardware enclaves, while decentralized attestors verify which code is allowed to run, crypto.news reports.
- Asset settlement happens on Ethereum, with plans to support additional blockchains.
- The network's first application is Ondo Perps, a perpetual futures platform for equities and commodities that launched earlier in July for non-US users, offering up to 20x leverage and accepting tokenized real-world assets as collateral.
- According to the company's engineers, the real bottleneck wasn't blockchain consensus but execution speed — which is exactly what Ondo Network's architecture is built to solve.
Ondo Network is an evolution of our vision for Ondo Chain.
The company says the network is suited not just for derivatives but for spot markets, lending, structured products, and institutional settlement systems, CryptoTimes notes. Ondo is one of the key players in real-world asset tokenization — we already covered its market's 5x growth over the past year in a separate piece.
