RLUSD's circulating supply on the XRP Ledger has crossed $1 billion for the first time, U.Today reported. The Ripple Stablecoin Tracker put the figure at $1,024,222,594 as of Friday, a historic mark for the stablecoin on that chain specifically.

The milestone landed after a burst of minting. On August 27, $26.2 million RLUSD was minted on the XRP Ledger against $6.9 million burned. On August 28, minting reached $36.9 million with $7.5 million burned. The Ripple Stablecoin Tracker's X account logged three separate mints in the prior 24 hours: 19.9 million, 10 million, and 10 million RLUSD.

Ethereum saw its own wave of activity in the same window: $53.3 million minted so far on August 28 against $5 million burned. RLUSD's circulating supply on Ethereum specifically now sits at $1.24 billion, still ahead of the XRP Ledger's total. Across every chain combined, RLUSD's circulating supply remains above $2 billion, at $2.27 billion, a figure that tends to climb around month's end as activity picks up.

  • RLUSD supply on XRP Ledger: $1.024B, first time above $1B
  • Aug 27 XRPL activity: $26.2M minted, $6.9M burned
  • Aug 28 XRPL activity (so far): $36.9M minted, $7.5M burned
  • Three tracked mints in 24h: 19.9M + 10M + 10M RLUSD
  • RLUSD supply on Ethereum: $1.24B; total across all chains: $2.27B

This isn't RLUSD's first supply milestone this year. Intokened covered the stablecoin pushing XRPL settlement above $2.5 billion and overtaking Ethereum in supply share back in July, before a stretch where transfer volume dropped 25% despite new partnerships. The last 48 hours look like a reversal of that dip, at least on the XRP Ledger side.

The mint comes in a busy stretch for the network more broadly. The XRP Ledger passed five billion transactions settled across its 14-year history this week. Ripple also began an AI-only security review of Lending Protocol V1.1 using the Sherlock Audit Engine, and Mastercard signed on as a sponsor of the XRP Ledger Hackathon ahead of the Ripple Swell event. Separately, the SEC declared the registration statement for XRP treasury company Evernorth effective this week, a development Intokened is covering on its own.

None of these numbers guarantee the pace continues. Stablecoin supply moves with demand for on-chain liquidity, and mint-and-burn activity swings by the week. What the past 48 hours show is that, for now, more of that liquidity is choosing the XRP Ledger over other chains RLUSD supports.
