Robinhood Chain hits a record $874.8M DEX day on meme coins
Robinhood Chain posted its biggest trading day since launch on August 30, and meme coins did most of the work. The Arbitrum-based Layer 2, live since July 1, recorded $874.8 million in decentralized exchange volume, a record for the network, BeInCrypto reported.
Uniswap handled nearly all of it. The exchange routed close to 95% of the day's volume across three versions, with V4 carrying the heaviest load at $432 million, ahead of V3 at $356.9 million and V2 at $40 million. The chain also processed 5.5 million transactions that day, another record, while token launchpad volume hit an all-time high of $394.4 million.
- Total DEX volume: $874.8M (record)
- Uniswap V4: $432M, V3: $356.9M, V2: $40M
- Transactions processed: 5.5M (record)
- Launchpad volume: $394.4M (record)
- RWA activity: $165.5M, including $40.76M in tokenized stocks (record)
- PONS token volume: $67.38M vs. Cash Cat's $32.66M
Tokenized real-world assets grew too, reaching $51.81 million in value on the chain, led by $40.76 million in tokenized stocks, with total RWA activity hitting $165.5 million that day, also a record. But that's a small slice next to what meme coins pulled in, a pattern Intokened has tracked since the chain first cracked the DEX volume top 5 on trading that had nothing to do with stocks.
PONS led every token that day with $67.38 million in volume, 135,566 trades, and 12,670 unique traders, according to Dune data. Cash Cat, the meme coin tied to Robinhood's own name that drove the chain's first breakout in July, came in second at $32.66 million. Nine of the day's 20 most-traded tokens launched on the same venue as PONS, ponsfamily.com. PONS itself trades around $0.328, up more than 370% over the past week, with a $233 million market cap, and touched a record $0.39 on August 30.
Robinhood Chain has been here before. Its previous high, $846.8 million in mid-July, came from launch-week novelty and Cash Cat's run, alongside 306,893 active addresses, before volume slid back through early August. This time the rebound arrived with multiple records at once instead of one isolated spike.
The question BeInCrypto raises is the one worth watching past this week: whether daily volume holds once the meme coin frenzy cools, given that both of the chain's peaks so far trace back to token speculation rather than the tokenized-stock trading Robinhood built the network to showcase. The RWA numbers are growing in absolute terms, but not fast enough yet to carry a record day on their own.
