Toncoin (Gram) braces for a $69.9M unlock — the biggest of the week
On July 26, the TON Believers Fund will release another tranche worth roughly $69.9 million — about 0.9% of the token's circulating supply, and the largest unlock of the week across the market by dollar value, according to Cryptonomist.
What the TON Believers Fund is
The fund releases about 36.59 million tokens monthly (roughly $75 million worth back in May), with the distribution schedule running all the way through October 2028 — around 1.098 billion tokens remain in the fund.
The token is mid-rebrand
- In May 2026, Telegram founder Pavel Durov announced the "Make TON Great Again" (MTONGA) plan, with Telegram taking on the role of the network's largest validator.
- The plan's first step, Catchain 2.0, already went live in April — cutting block times to roughly 400ms for near-instant transactions.
- In June 2026, the community voted (81.22% in favor) to bring back the token's original name, Gram — the one Telegram dropped after its 2020 SEC settlement.
Context
The Gram rebrand is step four of seven in the MTONGA roadmap — meaning the project is roughly halfway through. The token trades around $1.45-1.51 with a market cap near $4.1 billion, though analysts flag a much wider possible range for the rest of July. We covered Durov's announcement of the Gram crypto wallet for Telegram's billion-plus users earlier — both moves fit the same broader push to tie the token more tightly to the messaging app itself.
