XRPL's fixCleanup3_3_0 amendment clears consensus, eyes Sept 11
The XRP Ledger's fixCleanup3_3_0 amendment cleared majority consensus on Thursday at 82.86% support, U.Today reported. If that support holds, the bundle of bug fixes activates on mainnet next month.
fixCleanup3_3_0 shipped as part of the xrpld version 3.3.0 release, entered voting on August 6, and crossed the majority threshold on August 28. Hussein Zangana, who posts as Vet on X, flagged the milestone, noting the amendment has entered a two-week activation window with 29 Yes votes and urging node operators to upgrade in time to keep their nodes running once it goes live.
Per XRPScan data, fixCleanup3_3_0 is on track to activate on September 11. That date is a floor, not a guarantee: if support drops to 80% or below at any point in the window, the amendment gets rejected and the 14-day activation clock resets from zero.
- Consensus threshold: 80% support required; fixCleanup3_3_0 currently sits at 82.86%
- Activation window: 14 days, started with 29 Yes votes; resets if support falls to 80% or below
- Target mainnet date: September 11, 2026, per XRPScan
- Scope: fixes for Single Asset Vaults, Lending Protocol, AMMs, permissioned DEX, Checks, pseudo-accounts
- No new features: the bundle closes edge cases in functionality that already shipped
The bundle fixes bugs across several features that shipped in XRPL 3.3.0, including Single Asset Vaults, the Lending Protocol, Automated Market Makers, the permissioned DEX, Checks, and pseudo-accounts. None of it adds new functionality. It closes edge cases in features that already exist.
A few of the fixes give a sense of what that means in practice. One unifies freeze and deep-freeze checks across vault, AMM, and lending transactions involving pseudo-accounts, closing a gap where the checks didn't line up. Another changes CheckCash and CheckCancel to reject a malformed all-zero CheckID immediately, instead of letting it fail later during processing. A third patches AMMWithdraw so it returns a clean error instead of dividing by zero at one specific price point where the math breaks down. A fourth adds an invariant that deletes a pseudo-account whenever the ledger entry backing it gets deleted, closing a consistency gap between the two.
The upgrade lands as XRPL's underlying activity keeps climbing. Active addresses on the network jumped 650% even as XRP's price pulled back this month, a reminder that ledger usage and token price don't always move together.
None of these fixes will be visible to anyone using XRP day to day. They matter to node operators and to the developers building on Vaults, AMMs, and the permissioned DEX, the parts of XRPL still being hardened after their initial rollout.
