OpenAI was founded in 2015 as a non-profit lab, with Sam Altman and Elon Musk among its backers; Musk left the board in 2018. ChatGPT launched in November 2022 as a demo and reached a hundred million users in two months, faster than any consumer product before it. Pricing follows the country: on 12 October 2026 the official page served from Czechia showed 200, 499 and from 2,490 CZK for the three paid tiers, and no single global figure exists.
