Shipping since 2017 and still on the revenue list — a rare case of a mobile app outliving two waves of industry fashion

About the company
FaceApp was released in 2017 by Yaroslav Goncharov and became a meme before the industry had learned the word "generative". Its ageing and gender-swap filters pushed it into global download charts twice, and in 2019 it drew a public argument about where uploaded photographs went. Eight years on it is still on the revenue list, which is rare for a mobile product. We quote no subscription price, and that is a checked fact rather than an omission: faceapp.com carries no price list — we looked on 12 October 2026. The subscription sells only through app stores, priced separately in every country.
