About the company
GitHub released Copilot in 2021 as an autocomplete trained with OpenAI. It grew into an agent: you assign an issue to Copilot, it works in the cloud and comes back with a pull request. The plan runs on the editors developers already use, from VS Code and Visual Studio to Xcode and Neovim. The free tier gives 2,000 completions a month, and the Pro plan at ten dollars costs half of what Cursor charges for its standard tier.
