Renders legible words and whole signs inside an image — the task every generator before it stumbled on

About the company
Ideogram was assembled in 2022 by former Google Brain researchers led by Mohammad Norouzi, a co-author of Google’s image-generation work. It went after a narrow and galling problem: models produced beautiful posters on which not a single word was readable. Ideogram was the first to render captions nobody had to paste over in an editor, and that won it a place in marketing and cover design. The free tier is modest — ten slow generations a week — but unlike Midjourney it exists.
