About the company
Notion was founded in 2013 by Ivan Zhao and Simon Last and spent nearly a decade building one thing: a workspace where documents, tasks and databases sit together. When language models arrived that turned out to be a strong position, because answers can come from the company’s own documents rather than the web. Comparing Notion to a text generator is therefore slightly off — it wins on knowing the project’s context, not on the quality of a paragraph. Plans bill per person, and full AI access begins only at the Business tier, at twenty dollars a head.
