Writes a finished song with vocals and lyrics rather than a backing track — and on the free tier grants no commercial rights to it

About the company
Suno was founded in 2023 in Cambridge by Mikey Shulman, Georg Kucsko, Martin Camacho and Keenan Freyberg, a team that came out of Kensho working on speech recognition for financial data. The product set a bar nobody had cleared: not a backing track or a sample but a finished song with vocals and words from one line of description. That also put the company at the centre of ongoing litigation with music labels. The free tier gives fifty credits a day, but it conveys no commercial rights and attribution is required.
