Bitcoin Bounces Back to $65K Ahead of the Fed — What Happened in 48 Hours
Bitcoin has round-tripped in the last 48 hours: today, July 27, it's trading near $65,170 (+1.5% on the day) as the market positions ahead of the Fed's July 28-29 meeting, InteractiveCrypto reports.
- July 24 — a single-day outflow of $225-240 million from spot bitcoin ETFs (mostly BlackRock's IBIT) wiped out a $900M+ inflow streak from earlier in the week.
- July 25-26 — price slid into the $62,500-$64,100 range, giving back most of the bounce from the one-month high of $66,900-66,990 hit on July 21.
- July 27 (today) — a bounce back to $65,170 as the market positions ahead of the Fed's rate decision.
- Fear & Greed Index — sitting in the 20s-low 30s ("Fear") as of July 26.
Key levels right now: support around $62,000, resistance at $65,500-68,000, per CryptoSlate. A break below support reopens the $58,000-60,000 zone, while holding it plus a dovish Fed could revive talk of $68,000.
“From here, I don't expect bitcoin to come anywhere close to new all-time highs in 2026. A move into the low $70,000s looks more likely, but without a major catalyst, that rally could quickly lose momentum and transition back into consolidation.”

Important context: July as a whole marked the first positive monthly flow for bitcoin ETFs since April — we covered the five-day inflow streak that kicked it off, so the last two days' pullback hasn't erased the month's overall improvement yet — but that improvement is exactly what's now at stake if the Fed surprises the market.
