Franklin Templeton's fund took the only XRP ETF inflow

Franklin Templeton's spot XRP fund took $3.55m of net inflows for Thursday's session, which works out to 2.71 million tokens. No other XRP exchange-traded product recorded a flow in either direction that day.

“It was the only XRP exchange-traded fund to record any flow that session. Every other product in the category finished at zero.”

Do the two figures agree

The two numbers agree with each other, which is worth checking before repeating them. Dividing $3.55m by 2.71 million tokens gives $1.3100 each, and that sits inside the range XRP traded in. Reported flow figures and token counts often fail that test, because one of them gets copied from a press summary and the other from a dashboard, and nobody divides.

How big is $3.55m

Now the size. XRP turns over $1.39bn a day, so $3.55m is 0.26% of a single session's volume, which is about 220 seconds of trading. Against the token's $83.09bn of market value it is 0.0043%.

Put it next to the category that does have distribution. Bitcoin funds took $526.6m on Monday and $23.2m on Tuesday, which we measured this week. The whole XRP fund category, on the only day it moved at all, managed 0.67% of that Monday figure.

The price backdrop is as described. XRP trades at $1.32 and is fifth by market value, down 16.3% over 30 days, down 45.0% over a year and 63.9% below the high of $3.65 it set in July 2025. Buying into that is a position rather than a signal, and one fund's session does not make it either.

What the flow actually shows

What the flow does say is about plumbing. A category where one product moves and the rest post zero is a category that has not been distributed yet: the vehicles exist, the shelves they sit on mostly do not. Any large exchange moved hundreds of times more XRP in the same 24 hours than the entire fund segment took in. The other route to the same exposure is being built in parallel, and we read its paperwork earlier this week.

Two things settle whether this was the start of anything. Whether a second XRP fund records a flow before the week ends, and whether Franklin Templeton's number repeats rather than reverses. Until then the honest description is that a large asset manager bought four minutes of trading volume.

Informational material, not investment advice. One session of fund flows is a data point rather than a trend, and prices were read on 23 October 2026.
