OKX Adds X-Perps on Robinhood, Qualcomm, Coinbase, and Palantir Stock
OKX is listing four new contracts in its Equity X-Perps lineup: HOODUSD (Robinhood), QCOMUSD (Qualcomm), COINUSD (Coinbase), and PLTRUSD (Palantir), according to the exchange's official announcement. The listing rolls out in stages on July 27, from 10:00 to 10:45 UTC, 15 minutes apart per contract.
- X-Perps (Expiry Perps) is OKX's product for European traders, carrying a formal 5-year expiry date that in practice makes them indistinguishable from standard perpetual contracts for the vast majority of users.
- Unlike CFDs with opaque pricing, X-Perps operate under MiFID regulation and are available via web, mobile app, and API.
- The current stock and commodity X-Perps lineup offers up to 10x leverage, with round-the-clock trading not tied to traditional exchange hours.
- This expands an existing lineup: in June, OKX launched X-Perps on "Magnificent Seven" stocks (Apple, Amazon, Alphabet, Meta, Microsoft, Nvidia, Tesla), plus gold, silver, oil, and the SPY and QQQ indices.
The logic is straightforward: give traders exposure to a stock's price movement without opening a brokerage account or being limited to traditional market hours — settlement happens in stablecoins rather than the shares themselves, The Defiant explains. Three of the four tickers chosen today — Robinhood, Coinbase, and Palantir — are already closely tied to the crypto market as businesses, which makes the selection a logical extension of the exchange's strategy.
It's part of a broader trend of the line blurring between traditional exchanges and crypto platforms — earlier today we covered Robinhood's talks with Crypto.com to launch prediction markets, meaning the traffic is moving in both directions at once.
