Robinhood Chain memecoins: Cash Cat's record lasted a day
Cash Cat set its all-time high on Wednesday at $0.3143 and now trades near $0.2585, which is 18% below the record it made a day earlier. Reports of the new peak are already describing a price the token has left. That gap is the honest introduction to Robinhood Chain memecoins, where a record and a correction fit inside the same 24 hours.
Where the two tokens stand
Two tokens carry the cluster. Here is where they stand as this goes out:
- CASHCAT: $0.2585, market cap $255.7 million, up 22.5% over a week and 196% over a month, 18% under its high
- PONS: $0.6743, market cap $479.8 million, up 373% over a week and 2,454% over a month, 9% under its high
The launchpad is worth more than the cat
The cat is the famous one. The launchpad is the bigger one. PONS is the token of a platform that other people use to issue their own coins, and it is worth almost twice what the best-known meme on the same chain is worth. Money went to the thing that mints the lottery tickets rather than to the tickets.
A launchpad is a site where anyone issues a token in a few minutes and opens trading on it the same hour. The platform takes a cut of every launch and every trade, whether the coin survives the week or not.
That pattern says something about who is actually trading here. A month of 2,454% is not a market pricing a product. It is a market pricing access to the next launch, which is a bet on there being a next launch.
“While we're building Robinhood chain to be the best chain for RWA, it works great for memes too.”

The chain underneath
The chain underneath is not a rumour. DefiLlama counts $1.69 billion of DEX volume on Robinhood Chain over the past 24 hours, up 8.6% on the day and 98% on the week, spread across 79 protocols. On 31 August we called $874.8 million a record day. That number has roughly doubled in the eight days since, and the fees followed it up.
Robinhood opened the chain to the public on 1 July. Two months later its busiest product is a cat token from an image board, which is not the use case anyone wrote in the launch materials.
For a reader deciding whether to touch any of this, the useful number is the monthly one. A token that adds 2,454% in thirty days can hand back a third of it in an afternoon without anything unusual happening, and CASHCAT already showed the shape of that on Wednesday night.
The thing to watch is the launchpad rather than the cat. If PONS keeps its lead over the tokens it issues, traders are still paying for the next roll. When that lead narrows, the crowd has stopped believing there is one.
