Top 10 altcoins: Solana leads a broad 24-hour rally
Nine of the top 10 altcoins by market cap rose over the past 24 hours, led by Solana's 9.47% jump, according to live data from CoinGecko. Only one coin in the group traded lower on the day.
Solana climbed from a $95.23 low to $106.11, the sharpest move among the top 10 and enough to push its price back above $105. Hyperliquid traded near $82.81, below the fresh all-time high of $83.61 it set earlier today. Chainlink rose 4.06% to $11.80, and Dogecoin gained 2.91% to reclaim $0.088. Zcash added 2.75%, swinging between $759.30 and $817.85 over the session. RAIN was the sole decliner in the group, slipping 0.2% to $0.0175.

The altcoin move tracks a broader risk-on stretch across crypto today. Bitcoin has held above $79,000 while institutional buyers keep adding to spot ETF positions, and that kind of backdrop tends to lift smaller tokens alongside it rather than leave them behind. Solana's size makes its 9.47% gain the standout of the group, but the fact that eight other coins posted gains of their own, from Chainlink's 4.06% to BNB's more modest 0.94%, suggests buyers spread their capital across the list rather than piling into one name.
XRP earns a closer look on a day like this. The token traded up 4.2% to $1.45, sitting right at its 24-hour high after starting the session near $1.36, a swing of roughly 6.6% between the day's low and high. That kind of range fits a broader pattern: XRP's daily volatility has averaged close to 4% recently, elevated against its own historical norm, and well above the flat, range-bound trading it typically shows in late August. Demand data adds context to the move rather than explaining it outright. Intokened reported this week that XRP ETFs posted a ninth straight day of net inflows, a steady drip of institutional buying that's been running underneath the token's more volatile daily swings.
The broad participation across nine of ten coins points to money moving into altcoins generally rather than a single token's story, a contrast with yesterday's mix of gains and profit-taking across the same group. Whether today's move holds past the next session is a separate question from whether it happened, and for now, it happened across nearly the entire list.
