Trump Media moved 4,259 bitcoin worth $342 million to Crypto.com
Wallets linked to Trump Media & Technology Group sent about 4,259 BTC to Crypto.com early on 5 November, Arkham data show. At about $80,500 per coin the transfer was worth roughly $342 million, CoinDesk reported. Trump Media did not answer CoinDesk’s request for comment.
The transfer
The coins left in two batches at 02:17 UTC:
- 2,140.03 BTC;
- 2,119.31 BTC.
Arkham labels both sending wallets “2028 Convertible Notes Collateral”. Trump Media’s second-quarter filing listed 4,260.73 BTC pledged as collateral for those notes as of 30 June, with withdrawals restricted under the loan terms. About two hours later, Crypto.com moved the same 4,259 BTC to a wallet Arkham tags as its cold storage, Coinpedia reported.
The 30 November date
Holders of Trump Media’s convertible notes can demand repayment on 30 November. The company’s 2 November filing says that could require about $1 billion. The same filing warns that Trump Media may have to sell bitcoin or other digital assets if refinancing and other measures fall short.
The transfer equals about 30% of the 14,139 BTC the company reported holding, pledged coins included, as of 31 July. That disclosure is three months old, so the current balance may differ.
Third time this year
Trump Media has sent bitcoin to Crypto.com before:
- in May, about 2,650 BTC worth roughly $205 million;
- in early August, about 2,628 BTC worth roughly $165 million.
Both times the company said it had transferred the coins for custody and trading management and had not sold them. After the August move, about 4,261 BTC stayed in the wallets Lookonchain tracked, as we wrote then. Those are the collateral coins that moved this week. In August the company also reported a $238 million quarterly loss.
The Trump Media bitcoin treasury has lost money so far. Lookonchain estimated in August that the company bought 11,542 BTC at an average of $118,522 in the summer of 2025 and later sold 7,281 BTC at an average of $74,855. Trump Media has not confirmed those numbers.
What it means for you
An exchange deposit can mean a sale, a new custodian or fresh collateral. Arkham data show where the coins went and say nothing about why. Crypto.com’s transfer to cold storage fits custody, and only Trump Media can confirm the purpose. If you hold DJT shares or follow bitcoin treasury companies, watch the company’s filings before 30 November: they may show whether it sold coins to meet the notes.
Wallet attribution comes from Arkham labels reported by CoinDesk and Coinpedia. Trump Media has not commented on this transfer. This is not investment advice.
