Bitcoin ETFs took back $286m of last week's $774m exit
US spot bitcoin funds took in about $176m on Tuesday after $110m on Monday, SoSoValue data shows, which puts $286m back into funds that lost nearly $774m across Thursday and Friday. Bitcoin traded at $81,466 on Binance as we wrote this, up 2.0% over 24 hours.
“US spot bitcoin ETFs posted about $176 million in net inflows on Tuesday, extending their recovery to a second consecutive trading day.”

Convert the flows into coins and the week looks smaller than the headlines. At that price $286m buys 3,511 BTC and $774m buys 9,501 BTC. Miners produce 450 BTC a day, so the two bad days moved 21 days of new supply out and the two good days moved 7.8 days of it back. The funds have recovered 36.9% of what left.
A month of outflow headlines comes to 319 BTC
October stands at a net outflow of roughly $26m through Tuesday. That is 319 BTC, or 17 hours of mining. Four weeks of inflow days and outflow days cancel to less than a day of new coins, and the whole month comes to 3.4% of what left on those two days last week.
Year to date the funds hold a net inflow of about $850m. That is 10,434 BTC against the roughly 135,000 BTC miners have produced in the 300 days of 2026, so US spot ETFs have taken 7.7% of this year's new supply, one coin in thirteen. The other twelve found buyers somewhere else.
Ether funds lost 51 times more in the same month
Ether funds shed about $149m across Monday and Tuesday after four straight weeks of outflows, and October sits at $1.32bn out, the heaviest month since November 2025. At $2,369.92 that is 557,000 ETH leaving. Against bitcoin's $26m for the same month the ratio is 51 to one.
Sentiment moved with the flows and not much further. We pulled the Fear and Greed series ourselves: 51 today against 48 on Tuesday, both read as neutral. The drop came on 23 October, when the index fell from 68 to 50 in one day and stayed in the low fifties for the six days since. The move from 48 to 51 is three points of that eighteen.
We covered the other end of this a week ago, when inflows fell 96% in a single day. Since then the swings have stayed large and the month has stayed flat. No flow table says in advance whether the buyers who came back on Monday and Tuesday are still there in November.
Nothing here is investment advice. Flow figures are SoSoValue's as reported on 28 October 2026; the coin conversions, the days-of-issuance comparison and the share of 2026 supply are our own arithmetic at the Binance price that morning, and the index readings come from our own pull of the Alternative.me series.
