835 million SHIB hit exchanges. In dollars that is $4,484
U.Today reported on Sunday that 835 million SHIB hit exchanges in 24 hours and that inflows had broken a key barrier. At the SHIB price the same article quotes, $0.00000537, that headline figure is $4,484. The barrier it broke through sits at 800 million tokens, or $4,296.
Those are average transaction sizes, so the day's full flow is the number worth having. Priced at the same rate, it looks like this:
- Inflows: 287.59 billion SHIB, which is $1,544,357.
- Outflows: 174.88 billion SHIB, which is $939,106.
- Net onto exchanges: 112.71 billion SHIB, which is $605,253.
Net of the outflows, the SHIB exchange inflow for the day comes to $605,253. SHIB carries a market cap of $3.16bn, so that flow is 0.019% of it. Measured against SHIB's own trading, $94.2m over the same 24 hours, it is 0.64%. A number this size does not move a price and was never going to.
A barrier broken by 0.97%
The other figure in the report undercuts its own headline. The average inflow rose 0.97% on the day, and the seven-day moving average of inflows fell 36.54%. A barrier broken by 0.97% inside a week that shed more than a third of the flow is not a trend turning. It is a daily reading inside a decline.
“The market is not yet witnessing a long-term stabilization, even though investors are ready to take a risk.”

Direction matters too, and here it points the other way from the framing. Tokens moving onto exchange wallets are tokens positioned to be sold; net inflow adds to tradable supply rather than removing it. The report says so itself further down. SHIB is down 1.66% on the day, up 3.22% on the week, down 58.4% over the year and 93.8% below the high it set in October 2021.
Why the zeros do the work
The mechanism behind headlines like this is arithmetic, not analysis. When a token trades at five millionths of a dollar, any ordinary transfer produces a nine-digit token count, and nine digits read as an event. The same flow in a $3,000 asset would be 202 units and nobody would file it. Our exchange volume breakdown shows what real venue flow looks like at scale.
One habit fixes most of this: before reacting to a token count, multiply it by the price. We ran the same check yesterday on a LINK forecast whose headline promised +300% for a target worth +190%. Here the multiplication takes a second and returns $4,484.
Informational material, not investment advice. Token counts are from the cited report; dollar values are our conversion at the SHIB price of $0.00000537 on 20 September 2026.
