Nvidia's chief calls the cybersecurity panic demand creation
Jensen Huang told the Goldman Sachs technology conference that cybersecurity will be the next big market for AI, and then explained why everyone is talking about it, BeInCrypto reports. He sells the hardware on both sides of that trade.
“The reason why there's so much conversation today about cybersecurity is because the industry is getting ready to launch some products, and what better way to create demand than to create a problem.”

He added the commercial version of the same thought: cybersecurity will run continuously, which makes it a great new business opportunity. Continuous is the word that matters to a chip seller. A workload that never stops keeps buying.
Nvidia watches this market from inside it. Its BlueField data processing units run security inspection on the network card itself, and its Morpheus framework exists to point AI models at security telemetry. When Huang says the industry is getting ready to launch products, his own catalogue sits in that industry.
The survey numbers behind the AI cybersecurity market he is describing are already large, PYMNTS reports:
- 94% of surveyed executives say AI multiplies both cyber defence and cyber offence, per a World Economic Forum report.
- 85% of organisations now plan to raise security spending, up from 64%, per IBM.
- That is a 21-point jump, or a third more organisations than before, after they learned what frontier models can do.
The fear has receipts
The fear Huang describes as demand creation has receipts this month. OpenAI's Astra can build cyberattacks without human help, and an Anthropic researcher put the odds of AI destroying humanity above 10% this decade. Neither figure came from a security vendor's marketing department.
A real capability exists, and the people selling the countermeasure have every reason to make sure you have heard about it. Huang drew that line himself, saying there are responsible ways of doing this and less attractive ones.
If 85% of organisations raised their planned security spending after learning what the models can do, a buyer now has to ask whether that budget follows a measured risk or a well-timed announcement. Both produce the same purchase order.
One forecast, given twice
The same appearance produced Nvidia's guidance for 70% revenue growth next year, which we took apart this morning. Cybersecurity as a continuous AI workload is one of the places that growth has to come from. Huang gave the same forecast twice in one sitting, once as a market and once as a number.
For crypto the bill lands directly. Exchanges, custodians and bridges buy the same security stack as banks, and they hold assets that move in minutes and do not come back. If the models on the attack side match what their makers claim, this industry pays the defensive premium before most of the economy does.
